WHAT IS HACKTHECULTURE?
#HackTheCulture is an virtual hackathon series hosted by Impact Ventures exploring the intersection of social change, justice, and technology. Our goal lies in bringing developers, designers and other tech-minded individuals together with activist, community organizers, and policy makers to create exciting projects and solve intriguing challenges our community is facing during this ongoing pandemic. WHO IS IT FOR?
#HackTheCulture is for anyone from any background who is interested in applying their knowledge and skills towards creating innovative solutions to todays most pressing challenges. Not an expert at coding? Don’t worry, we'll pair you with mentors, subject matter experts and team members with complementary skills. Register today!

WHEN & WHERE IS IT?
Participants in #HackTheCulture can engage from the comfort of their homes. That's right -- it's 100% VIRTUAL and 100% FREE. #HackTheCulture kicks off Sept 22nd – 24th with a week of learning sessions and challenge panels to provide hackers more context to the specific theme challenges in the event. Friday, September 25th will be the official welcome ceremony gathering our sponsors, partners, mentors, and hackers to set the stage for the next 48 hours. The event will commence on Sunday September 27th with community voting with our semi-finalist and finalist, selections to pitch in front of our judges for prizes and swag. Judges will begin project evaluations the following week and winners will be announced Saturday, October 3rd at 1pm via the HTC live site. - Change-maker - You want to change the world

- Project Pitch/Demo Video (3-5 Minutes Max / 10 Slides Max)

- [30 seconds] Team (roles, skills, background)
- [30 seconds] Problem (Include research done, stats, feedback channels, user profiles, etc.)
- [30 seconds] Problem Statement: Ex: "How might we..."
- [30 seconds] Impact - What is the intended impact you want to have on users
- [60 seconds] Product - A simple one-line statement of what the product is and highlight 1-3 features
- [120 seconds] Demo - A quick demo of how the product works using screen recording, live user testing, etc.

Does the hack adhere to the event's theme? Does it implement that theme fully or just partially? -

Did the team stretch themselves? Did they try to learn something new? What kind of projects have they worked on before? -
Originality
Has this project been done before at hackathons in the past? How creative is their project in solving the problem at hand? -
Completion
Does the hack work? Did the team achieve everything they wanted?
